Ken Cerniglia
Dramaturg
Ken Cerniglia is a dramaturg, writer, editor, and organizational leader, best known for his work on the Broadway productions Hadestown (eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical) and Peter and the Starcatcher (five Tony Awards).
He served for sixteen years as resident dramaturg and literary manager at Disney Theatrical Productions, where he developed more than seventy stage titles for Broadway, touring, and international productions, including Aladdin, Newsies, The Little Mermaid, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Tarzan.
Additional dramaturgy includes Romeo y Juliet by Karen Zacarías and XI Sanke, the chamber opera Blood Moon (PROTOYPE), and multiple adaptations for the Kennedy Center.
Now a full-time freelancer, he collaborates internationally on new theatrical works. Cerniglia is past president and current board member of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA), artistic director of Two Turns Theatre Company, and holds degrees from UC San Diego, Catholic University, and a PhD from the University of Washington.
